@Calico: I'm glad to hear a few people like the series, since I picked it up completely randomly! I'm still debating on whether to track down the first or just read the second... Perhaps, in light of what you said, I'll just read. As for Liar, it was really interesting, so I'll be curious to see your opinion of it. :)

Okay, take two!

Regarding THE DEAD AND THE GONE, I'm very jealous: I'm waiting on that sucker to come out in trade before I pick it up! That said, the first book, LIFE AS WE KNEW IT, follows a completely different character and her family. I think the only think linking the books in the series is the event itself, so I'm not sure how necessary it is to read them in order. :)

LIAR is on my to-read list, and you know I've already read ELEGY BEACH. Which reminds me, I need to announce the winner of the giveaway! :)

Great books!

BTW: The Dead and the Gone is the second book in the series. Basically it follows a teen and his family after the moon had been pushed off its axis. The book focuses on many apocalypse-type events. The series is very gritty and well written. They are great reads, and make you think about survival in a new light.
